Participation in the conference on the “Arbitral resolution of international commercial disputes in Russia: new horizons”

A conference on the “Arbitral resolution of international commercial disputes in Russia: new horizons” took place on 17 April 2006 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The conference was organized by the above-mentioned Chamber, the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF, and the law school “Statut.” Yuri Alexeyevich TIMOKHOV, a Partner of the law firm “YUST”, took part in this conference.

The conference addressed various issues concerning the activity of the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF (ICAC CTI RF), including matters related to the procedures of arbitral examination, composition of the arbitration, current questions connected with the application of substantive law, the components of an arbitral ruling.

Particular attention was devoted to the provisions of the new Rules of the ICAC of the CTI RF that came into force on 1 March 2006.

The conference also discussed questions concerning the challenging and execution of the rulings of foreign courts, the challenging of the rulings of arbitration tribunals and the issue of writs of execution for the enforcement of the rulings of arbitration tribunals (Information letter of the Presidium of the Higher Arbitration Court of the RF of 22 December 2005 № 96).
