The Supreme court has recognized illegal the decision to revoke the registration of mass media «Rosbalt»

The Supreme court (SC) of Russia has recognized illegal the decision about invalidation of the registration certificate of the news Agency «Rosbalt» by the Roscomnadzor. Last October, the service issued two warnings to «Rosbalt» for swearing, finding violations in the two videos. The Agency has removed the video from the site, but Roskomnadzor has asked the Moscow city court demanding to revoke the «Rosbalt» registration of mass media, and he withdrew. This is the first case when Russia was revoked registration of the big media. Total, according to the service, since 2002, the registration has lost nine media.
The lawyer of «Rosbalt» Tatiana Starikova reported that Roskomnadzor could not provide evidence supporting his claims. The representative said that she does not agree with the decision and likely will appeal against it.
