Ivanov: the Supreme Court of Arbitration will contribute to the development of understandable rights in the economy
Anton Ivanov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Arbitration of the Russian Federation (SCARF), said that SCARF will keep elaborating the laws which will permit to make the rules of the country’s economy more predictable, the correspondent of RAPSI/rapsinews.ru agency informs.
Speaking at the meeting of the 20th anniversary of the Russian system of courts of arbitration, A.Ivanov said: “We will maintain our active participation in the elaboration of the laws, which will make the rules of conducting economic activity in the country more predictable, understandable and equally obligatory for everyone”.
Also, Mr. Ivanov said, the SCARF will “develop and promote the norms, which will help to free our system from the tide of small cases that can and should be settled extrajudicially or administratively”.
Chairman of the SCARF stressed: “We must stick to the trail of improving the judges’ specialization. New categories of cases and disputes, which arise as the economy progresses, demand that the judges immerse into the subject matters of the disputes more and more deeply”.
He reminded that the intellectual rights court, the creation of which was recently approved by the lawmakers, would be the first of these specialized courts. “The first, but obviously not the last. Creation of an international finance center in Moscow, development of new technologies, amplification of cooperation with the courts of other countries – all these processes will inevitably demand from us new efforts aimed at improving the structure of the system of courts of arbitration”, observed Mr. Ivanov.
The ceremony of the 20th anniversary of the system of courts of arbitration was held at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre. During the course of the ceremony, Dmitry Medvedev, President of the Russian Federation, awarded Anton Ivanon the Order “For Merits to the Motherland” III degree. The official information mentioned that the Chairman of the SCARF earned the award for his significant contribution to the strengthening of the rule of law and many years of productive work.
