Lawyers require protection from investigation

Today the Council of the Federal chamber of advocates (AFP) will consider amendments to the Law «About lawyer activity and legal profession». According to the «NG», such an order was received fr om the Ministry of justice, which is dissatisfied with how the process of modernization of this sector. Meanwhile, the lawyers themselves offer to lim it the rights of the investigators, who, in their opinion, widely violated the rights of the defence.

By may, the FCA should develop amendments to the Law «About lawyer activity and legal profession». The Council of the FCA will discuss and its own work, and ideas received from colleagues from other lawyers ' organizations. Many of them are dissatisfied with the work of the investigative authorities and ask members of the chamber first of all to be amended their responsibility for violating the legislation on advocacy.

In addition, the Council will address the problem of the Crimean justice. According to first Vice-President of the Federal chamber of advocates Yury Pilipenko, now all attention is focused on the formation of the chamber of advocates of the Crimea. He explained that the Crimean lawyers do not correspond to Russian standards: «They don't fit into many of the requirements of the legislation - for example, related to their education. We are concerned that a large part of the Crimean colleagues do not even know the basic laws of the Russian Federation». Meanwhile, it is a core exam for those who will join in the Crimean bar chamber. Moreover, according to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, the Russian authorities still can not decide: do I first have to recognize the Crimean lawyers Russian, so they then created a chamber in his Republic, or did to create chamber solution above, that it itself dealt with retraining of specialists.
