Evgeny Zhilin, Advocate, Doctor-at-Law Anna Kotova-Smolenskaya, Advocate Alexander Bolomatov were appointed Partners of the Law Firm "YUST" in September of 2013.

Evgeny Zhilin was born in Moscow in 1981 and graduated cum laude from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the MFA of Russia in 2002. He came to the Law Firm "YUST" during the final years of his studies in the University. E.Zhilin successfully completed his training and reached outstanding professional achievements afterwards. He was appointed Associated Partner of the Law Firm "YUST" in 2008. European Legal Experts has recommended him as an expert on corporate law and M&A since 2007, and Best Lawyers international rating included him among the leading Russian specialists in commercial law in 2013. Evgeny Zhilin currently continues developing the sphere of legal assistance to foreign clients, Russian clients abroad, including on the issues of establishing of subsidiaries and joint ventures in the city of Russia. Thanks to his work, the Firm has one of the strongest M&A practices in Russia with the participation of foreign investors. Evgeny Zhilin has a large experience of successful cases in the Supreme Court of Russia, in the courts of arbitration of Russia, in the international commercial arbitration, including the cases of disputes involving bodies of state authority and disputes arising in the sphere of external commercial activity.

Anna Kotova-Smolenskaya was born in Moscow in 1977 and graduated from the Oleg Kutafin Moscow State Academy of Law. She defended her Doctor’s thesis in 2003. A.Kotova-Smolenskaya came to the Firm in 2004 from the banking sector and actively started developing the legal due diligence practice on large investment projects in the sphere of oil and gas extraction, realty and construction, telecommunications, retail networks, energy industry, innovations and intellectual property, banking, financial and other areas. European Legal Experts has recommended her as an expert on corporate law and M&A since 2007. She was appointed Associated Partner of the Law Firm "YUST" in 2008. Best Lawyers international rating has included her among the leading Russian specialists in Mergers and Acquisitions since 2009. She obtained the advocate’s status in 2005. A.Kotova-Smolenskaya currently successfully represents the clients’ interests during the implementation of projects in the PPP sphere at the federal and regional levels. She gives advice on the matters of corporate law, including the issues concerning establishment and organization of corporate and internal structure, purchase and alienation of assets, reorganization (restructurization) of business and assets, M&A transactions etc.

Anna Kotova-Smolenskaya, together with Partner of the Firm, Advocate Alexey Popov, became a member of the Council of Experts on the Non-Commercial Partnership “Public-Private Partnership Development Center” in September of 2013.

Alexander Bolomatov was born in Moscow in 1978 and graduated cum laude from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the MFA of Russia in 2002. He came to the Law Firm "YUST" during the final years of his studies in the University and was involved in many judicial proceedings on protection of rights of the Firm’s clients, took part in a number of major M&A transactions in the Russian market, provided legal assistance to emission of shares of many large Russian companies. European Legal Experts has recommended him as an expert on corporate law and M&A since 2007. He obtained the advocate’s status in 2002 and was appointed Associated Partner of the Law Firm "YUST" in 2008.

Alexander Bolomatov currently has much experience of successful litigation in all court instances of the general jurisdiction system, in the courts of arbitration of Russia, in the private arbitration, in international commercial arbitration. He successfully represents the clients’ interests in the Supreme Court of Russia and in the Board of the Higher Court of Arbitration of Russia, in the international commercial arbitration (the International Court of Commercial Arbitration under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, ICC, the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce). Alexander Bolomatov manages the conduction of legal due diligence of Russian legal entities with subsequent assistance to the transactions of their purchase, coordinates the legal protection of interests of the clients within the bankruptcy (insolvency) procedure framework.
