New rules for conferring disability status

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security elaborated the new federal indicators, on the base of which specialists will evaluate the degree of damage to a human organism and confer the respective disability group. Rossiyskaya Gazeta publishes the respective order of the Ministry today.

According to the statistics, there are approximately 13 million people with impaired abilities in Russia. Approximately 850 thousand Russian citizens are recognized as disabled every year.

In order to receive an individual program of treatment and rehabilitation, as well as social benefits, a person is required to take a medical and social examination. According to the results of such examination, the medics give an assessment of the degree of the damage sustained by the patient’s organism.
