Potanin pays the first large alimonies
It seems that Vladimir Potanin’s alimony scandal has petered out. We remind that the billionaire transferred 10 thousand roubles to his ex-wife in early April, after which the attorneys of Natalia Potanina initiated a scandal. They claimed that the businessman’s conduct was “demonstrative and indicative of a sense of impunity”. However, the first large sum of alimonies was credited to the account of the entrepreneur’s ex-wife on April 10 – for several of February of for the month of March.
Advocate Tatiana Starikova, Partner and Head of the Private clients Practice of the Law Firm "YUST", points out: “The counsels of Natalia Potanina, headed by advocate Philipp Ryabchenko, give comments to journalists left and right, disclosing virtually each step of the litigation. In my opinion, Vladimir Potanin has no intention of hiding his income or avoiding alimony payment. In all probability, the alimonies will be paid by installments, as the revenue comes in. Lawyers should not mention dishonorableness and jump the gun; it is not nice. Moreover. The information on the trial and the text of the statement of the severance claim of the Potanins appeared in the newspapers yesterday. Please note that the court hearings are held in private. The Civil Code fixes administrative liability for disclosure. I can hardly imagine that it was the court that leaked information. It is nonsense to me! I think Philipp Ryabchenko really should go through the Advocate’s Code of professional ethics again”.
