Rules for those who stick to them

Maxim Rovinskiy, Partner of the Law Firm "YUST", commented for the Russian Business Newspaper on the Council of the Federation’s suggestion to introduce benefits for those Russian companies, which are honest taxpayers. Such benefits could include exemption from checks for certain periods, simpler and faster administrative proceedings, subsidies, granting tax extensions.
The initiative essentially is to decrease control over those organizations, which the tax service itself deems honest. Maxim Rovinskiy believes: “It would be reasonable to establish a legal ban on field checks for taxpayers, until the tax authority discovers at least one indicator of those listed in the law (similarly to the Convention)”. This would stimulate a growth of the activity within one legal entity and hinder the tendency to fracture business and create “one-day” firms.
