Sports law: perspectives of development

The VI International Scientific Conference “Sports law: perspectives of development” was held on May 30 in Moscow. Traditionally, it was organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Olympic Committee of Russia, the Russian Football Union, the Continental Hockey League, the Lawyers’ Association of Russia, the Oleg Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy, the Law Firm "YUST", “Konsultant Plus” company, the law firm “Intellect Group”, the “Statut” editorial house.

Over 100 persons took part in the Conference: representatives of the Ministry, of the leading Russian universities, lawyers of the Organizing Committee “Russia 2018”, football clubs and noted sports lawyers.

Mikhail Prokopets, Head of sports law practice of the Law Firm "YUST", and Denis Rogachev, Head of Sports Law Chair of the Oleg Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy, were the co-hosts of the Conference.

Professor Bruce Collins and Judge of the Court of Sports Arbitration in Lausanne (CAS), Professor Lucio Colantuoni were among the foreign guests of the Conference. In their speeches, they covered the most important issues regarding the contractual stability in modern football.

Presentation of the pilot issue of the Russian scientific and practice magazine “Sports Law” was a notable event of the Conference. More information on it is available here.
