The court initiated bankruptcy proceedings towards SU-155

According to the materials of the index file of arbitration cases, the Court of Arbitration of the Moscow Region began the supervision procedure over the SU-155 construction company. The decision was taken within the framework of the consideration of the claim by the Russian Business company that requests to rule the debtor bankrupt. The claim was filed with the court on January 14. The developer owes 1.6 billion roubles to the claimant.
Alexander Bolomatov, Partner of the Law Firm “YUST”, clarified to the Lenta.ru portal that it is not yet about ruling the debtor bankrupt, but “over 80 per cent of the cases, where supervision was initiated, ended in bankruptcy proceedings and dissolution of the debtor”. The advocate added: “This is the first stage of the bankruptcy procedure, but it does not require suspension of the company director. In other words, nothing changes for the purposes of management”.
The SU-155 construction company, owned by Deputy Mikhail Balakin of the Moscow City Duma is on the verge of bankruptcy due to the falling demand on residential realty and high debts approaching 20 billion roubles. SU-155 is among the largest construction companies in Russia, uniting over 80 industries and construction organizations, which delivers approximately 1.5 million square meters of immovable property each year.
