The Advocate’s Code of Professional Ethics: test of time and practice

14.06.2013

The VI All-Russian Congress of Advocates approved the changes and additions to the Advocate’s Code of Professional Ethics on April 22 of 2013, and the advocates celebrated their professional holiday on May 31. In this connection, Yury Pilipenko, Managing Partner of the Law Firm "YUST", First Vice-President of the Federal Chamber of Advocates of Russia, Chairman of the workgroup on changes and additions to the Code was the guest of the “Legal Thursday” program of the Internet portal “I am Citizen”.

The Advocate’s Code of Professional Ethics is the first document in the history of the Russian Bar that defines the rules for the community life. And, according to experts, it is among the best similar codes in the world.

Yury Pilipenko and Mikhail Krasilnikov discussed:

  • What application problems were discovered during the validity of this backbone document;
  • What amendments were not included and what changes were avidly discussed;
  • In what cases the meetings of disciplinary committees will be held openly.

The video recording of the company is available at the Internet portal “I am Citizen” (see here for details).
