The FIDE Chess World Championship match to be held in May 2012 in Moscow

International Chess Federation (FIDE) and Russian Chess Federation have agreed to hold the FIDE Chess World Championship match in Moscow in May 2012. The respective agreement was signed on November 26, 2011. The Firm, represented by Associate Partner Evgeny Zhilin and Senior Lawyer Mikhail Prokopets, rendered legal support for the agreement’s execution from the side of the Russian Chess Federation.

The incumbent World Champion Vishwanatan Anand (India) and the challenger Boris Gelfand (Israel) will dispute the FIDE Chess World Championship title. The prize money of the tournament amount to over 2 million USD. All games of the match will be held at the State Tretyakov Gallery.
