18.02.2016
A company leaving the market is incomparably worse than increase of prices to its products In its letter to the Russian government, the Federal Antimonopoly service proposes to increase prices of more than 300 cheap medications from the list of vital ones. Domestic producers already discontinued production of 197 medications with the price of less than 50 rubles, and 160 more items from the list may disappear from the counters. The ministry thinks that increasing prices by 5 rubles may become a solution.

Adviser of YUST Law Firm, member of the expert council under the FAS of Russia Dmitry Seregin told Regnum information agency that price restraint of vital medications is important, but a cheap medicine unavailable in the market cannot cure anyone. “The government of the Russian Federation cannot make a producer work if the established pricing does not cover his expenses. From the competition point of view, a company leaving the market is incomparably worse than increase of prices to its products”, the expert added.
