Meeting with Ludmila Mikhailovna Pchelintseva, a judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

On 25 February 2006, attorneys from the Bar Association of the Moscow Region law firm “YUST” participated in a meeting with professor, doctor of law, candidate of philosophical studies and judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Ludmila Mikhailovna Pchelintseva. The meeting was organized by the Federal Chamber of Advocates of Russia as part of the Chamber’s program for raising the qualifications of Russian lawyers.

In her address, L.M. Pchelintseva discussed the more prominent questions of procedure in courts of the supervisory instance, including the limits of verification of the legality and grounds of court rulings and judicial consideration that have come into force.

In the course of the meeting, the attorneys and the judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation discussed the practice of the application of law in such institutions as the enforced execution of foreign legal rulings, and also current issues of housing and family law, including adoption. This event granted practicing attorneys a unique opportunity to learn the position of the court on the more complex and ambiguously interpreted problems on the indicated issues.
