Participation of the Law firm “YUST” in the Second CIS Local Counsel Forum.

The Second CIS Local Counsel Forum took place on 20 – 22 June in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. The representatives of some 30 leading law firms of the CIS (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic) took part in the Forum, as well as representatives of more than 20 law firms from Europe and North America.

In the course of the forum, the participants discussed various aspects of contemporary law practice in the member countries of the CIS, including such questions as the use of modern computer software by law firms, including the creation of the so-called “virtual office”, interaction with law firms in other CIS countries (within the context of expanding the possibilities of national law firms in organizing qualified legal aid to their clients abroad), means of minimizing clients’ investment risks in various jurisdictions, and also other current issues of legal practice.

The most significant result of the forum for the Law firm “YUST” was the establishment of numerous contacts with leading CIS law firms, contacts that shall enable “YUST” to ensure effective protection of its clients’ interests in these countries.
