Participation of the Law firm "YUST" in the Third CIS Local Counsel Forum.

On 25-27 June 2008, the Third CIS Local Counsel Forum took place in St. Petersburg. Over 40 leading law firms of the CIS member states (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenia, and Kirghizia), and also over 30 law firms from countries of the Western Europe and the North America participated in the Forum.

The Forum is traditionally a good site for a dialogue of representatives of various law firms in the CIS region; it helps to establish close contacts between leading representatives of the law community.

During the Forum, the participants discussed various aspects of modern legal practice in the CIS member states, including issues of formation of "national" law firms and their competition with international law firms, issues on creation of associations of independent law firms and on usage of the «best friends relations» principle; the participants also discussed topical issues of law enforcement practice in various areas (subsurface use, tax law, corporate law, and interaction with state bodies).
