Russian advocates ask for help in the UN

Lawyers from Russia decided to complain to the UN and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for illegal interference of the security forces in their activities. For example, the so-called inspections of premises, in fact, are real searches. As a result, it is difficult to guarantee the safety of the information received from them. That is, the notion of lawyer secrecy actually ceases to exist.

The lawyer of the "YUST" law firm Andrey Orlov stressed "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" that it is a total ignoring by investigators of the interests of the defense. "For instance, the lawyer requests the investigator to attach evidence or requests documents from the various instances, access to which is difficult or is limited to the defender. In both cases, the answer is predictable - the investigator gives a couple of formal reasons for the denial of the type "the evidence is irrelevant," the investigator is independent and himself directs the progress of the investigation".
