The advocates of the Law firm “YUST” participated in an international conference on sport law.

On 29 June 2007, the first international conference on sport law to be held on our country took place at the Moscow State Academy of Law. The organization of this conference was supported by the Russian Football Union, the Olympic Committee of Russia, the Committee of the Federal Council on Youth and Sport, the Russian Association of Labor Law and Social Welfare and the Association of Sport Law of Russia.

The participants of the conference included representatives from the sphere of legal sciences, the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Russian Federation, sports organizations (federations, leagues, clubs), sportswriters and practicing lawyers in the sphere of sport law.

Presentations at the conference addressed issues of sponsorship, media rights in the world of sport, the resolution of disputes in sport and the activity of arbitration in sport, the campaign against doping and numerous other current concerns. One of the liveliest discussions at the conference concerned the draft legislation of the Federal Law “On physical culture and sport” and the Federal Law “On amendments to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation” (in the part on the specifics of the regulation of the work of sportsmen and trainers), within the framework of which existing problems in the sphere of legal regulation of sport were raised.
