The Presnensky District Court of the City of Moscow satisfied the claim filed by the International Public Organization “World Russian Popular Council” against the editorial board of the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets” and its journalist S.A.Bychkov, for

The grounds for the claim were the following two articles published by “Moskovsky Komsomolets”: on 9 March 2007 under the headline “Bishop Dynamite” and on 9 March 2007 under the headline “Synodals Kept Away From the Cash Box.”

The indicated articles contain incorrect information and slander the business reputation of the IPO “World Russian Popular Council.”

The Court bound the editorial board of the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets” and journalist S.A.Bychkov to publish a rebuttal in the newspaper and levied a compensation for moral damages from the newspaper’s editorial board and journalist S.A.Bychkov to the benefit of IPO “World Russian Popular Council.”

The court ruling has come into effect.

The interests of IPO “World Russian Popular Council” were represented in court by A.N. Petrov, an advocate with the Bar Association of the Moscow Region Law firm “YUST.”
