The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation refused extradition of Stanko Subotic, citizen of Serbia, to the Republic of Serbia, who was previously arrested in the territory of Russia and had been held in custody as wanted by Interpol.

As the basis for adoption by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation of the ruling on refusal in Stanko Subotic's extradition to the Republic of Serbia for criminal prosecution there served a circumstance that according to the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation Stanko Subotic is not a public official. Besides, Stanko Subotic could not be subject to criminal prosecution in territory of the Russian Federation also in connection with expiration of the limitation period of criminal prosecution.

Pursuant to the ruling adopted by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, Stanko Subotic was released from custody on 26 June 2008.
