Moscow City Government has approved the voting procedure for the demolition of houses

Moscow City Government has approved the voting procedure for the demolition of houses, which were included in the programme of "renovation", however the law that defines where and on what terms residents of these houses will be relocated, has not yet passed even the second reading in the State Duma.

Alexander Bolomatov, partner of YUST Law Firm, commented to the project "Mediazona" on the proposal of Moscow City Government to vote for or against abstract "renovation". Alexander Bolomatov believes that the vote will be meaningful only after providing information to its participants as to what house they are to be moved "in technical and territorial terms", and the assessment of this proposal needs time: “Without these measures, such relocation, such a choice would be incomplete. The impression is that this programme is not planned, but improved on the go. Looks like inefficient arrangement. But still recent proposal seems to be much better than it was originally. So the programme of "renovation" is being improved in the right direction, but it would be a good idea to think about all this in advance”. At the same time, Alexander finds unacceptable the "principle of silence", which the city authorities will take into account as voting for demolition: “This is an unjust situation. One may not express his opinion for a thousand reasons, and this does not mean that one agrees, he may be very well against”.
