Representation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the lawsuit moved by E.Y.Dzhugashvili, who claims to be a grandson of Josef Stalin, to protect honor and dignity.
E.Y.Dzhugashvili, who claims to be a grandson of Josef Stalin, filed with the Tverskoy District Court of the city of Moscow a lawsuit against the State Duma to protect the honor and dignity of his grandfather. YUST represented the interests of the State Duma.
E.Y.Dzhugashvili was dissatisfied with the State Duma’s resolution No. 4504-5 ГД “On Katyn tragedy and its victims” dated 26.11.2010. The statement concerned the thousands of Polish citizens executed seventy years ago, earlier imprisoned in the military prisoners’ camps of the PCIA of the USSR and prisons of western regions of Ukrainian and Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republics.
The representatives of Josef Stalin’s grandson in their statement of claim expressed their disagreement with J.Stalin’s personal involvement in the Katyn tragedy.
The court dismissed the claim on February 14 of 2012.
