«Road to profession-2012»: the basics of practical work

November 1, the ceremony of awarding the prize finalists "road to profession-2012». In the hall of the Academic Council of the law faculty of Moscow state University gathered prizewinners and jury members: professors and practicing lawyers.

the law firm «YUST» represented the MSU graduates, partner, lawyer, PhD in law Artem Kukin and head of litigation and arbitration practice, attorney at law Alexander Evdokimov.

Welcoming speech was delivered by head of the Department of civil law of the law faculty of Moscow state University, Dun Yevgeny Sukhanov. Deputy chief editor of Legal Insight and associate Professor at the law faculty of Moscow state University Marina Dushechkina congratulated the finalists and then told about changes and outcomes «Path in your profession.»

this year The contest «road to profession» noted the fifth anniversary. The award has become «the first swallow» - followed by other regions began to appear and other scientific-practical competitions for students. Having said this, Marina Dushechkina stressed that all these competitions «make one important common work». Then she told that this was the contest 135 works, including one – from the University of Geneva.

it was noted that the jury thoroughly reviewed their work with the help of the «anti-plagiarism». Winners received 14 points from 15, winners - 15. Some winners received extra points for creativity.

this year the vast majority of works were devoted to civil law, in particular the issues of corporate relations. Special prize for work on international arbitration from the law firm «YUST» has received the Anastasia Rubanenko, representing the HSE.

At the round table, Artem Kukin and Alexander Evdokimov, talked with the finalists of the award and told about his experience of student life and the start of her career in the 1990s.

the Students were interested in the nuances of the practical work of a lawyer-consultant, customer relations, and asked questions about trends in the development of the legal market. «To succeed in the profession, we have to do more than is expected of you» - said Artem Kukin. In his opinion, a qualified lawyer must constantly learn, to open new horizons».
