Specialists of the Law Firm "YUST" were key speakers at the Russo-Swiss Forum

Advocate Erika Kinsvater of the Law Firm "YUST" and Senior Associate of the Firm Maxim Mezentsev took part in the Russo-Swiss Forum, which was held in Zurich on May 11.

Being key speakers of the Forum, the YUST specialists delivered reports on the Russian law. For example, E.Kindsvater spoke on the reform of the legislation on legal entities and on localization of manufacture in Russia.

М. Mezentsev spoke on the subject of the changes to the Civil Code, which enter into force on June 1^st of 2015 and told about the recognition and execution of foreign judgments in Russia.

Estrangement has lately appeared between Russia and the Western countries. However, this tendency should not affect the positive development of entrepreneurial law, material improvement of indicators of entrepreneurial activity in the Russian Federation and the large potential of the Russian market.

The Forum was dedicated to the reforms to the Civil Code and the changes in other legal spheres, like de-offshorization and import substitution. The reports, inter alia, covered the issues of organization of sales in Russia, gave a survey of requirements and opportunities for Swiss investors, who decide to do business in Russia.

The participants asked the speakers questions, which dealt with legal limitations on the entry of Swiss entrepreneurs to the market, as well as with tax regulation of de-offshorization. Lawyers from the Swiss community explained that the current political situation does not affect the interests of entrepreneurs in the Russian market in any way. There is hope that the financial sanctions imposed on Russia may be lifted and the respective criteria for localizing foreign investors established.
