2018 World Soccer Championship to be held in Russia

Four bids to host the 2018 World Soccer Championship were presented in Zurich on Thursday, December 2nd.

After the presentations, 22 members of the FIFA Executive Committee conducted a secret vote electing the host country for the Championship.

The Russian bid, by a decisive advantage of 14 votes against 8, prevailed over the joint bid of Spain and Portugal.
