Advocate of the Law Firm "YUST" is included in the Human Rights Council

Advocate Igor Pastukhov, Tax Adviser of the Law Firm "YUST", became a member of the expanded Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation. His candidature was moved under the nomination “Police reform, public control over the law enforcement bodies” together with the famous advocate and public figure Anatoly Kucherena, Natalia Bobrova, Professor of constitutional law from Samara, and Pavel Chikov, Chairman of the “Agora” Inter-Regional Association of human rights organizations.

The list of the nominees was drawn up according to the results of the Internet voting conducted this autumn.

Mikhail Fedotov, Chairman of the Human Rights Council, met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on November 1st to discuss the results of the public consultations. During that meeting, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin suggested greatly expanding the Council by inclusion of three candidates in each nomination, who won the competitive selection, thus increasing the number of the Council members from 40 to 65 persons.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will meet with the new members of the Council next Monday in the Kremlin.
