Anna KOTOVA-SMOLENSKAYA, Associate Partner of the Law Firm "YUST", took part in the Fourth Annual Meeting with the State Labor Inspectorate, organized by the Association of European Business.

On 18 March 2009, the Fourth Annual Meeting with the State Labor Inspectorate under the aegis of the Association of European Business (AEB) was held. At the meeting, issues arising in the course of inspections held currently by the Inspectorate were discussed.

At the meeting, there were also discussed issues on the observance of labor legislation in the situation of the financial crisis; in particular, the infringements most often occurring in this area recently and the Inspectorate’s methods of response to such infringements were discussed.

At the meeting, the State Labor Inspectorate was represented by Mikhail MALYUGA, Deputy Head of the State Labor Inspectorate, an assistant to the Chief State Labor Inspector (on labor issues) of the State Labor Inspectorate in Moscow.

In a form of dialogue with the participants, Mr. MALYUGA described Inspectorate’s attitude towards a variety of topical issues: reduction in wages, cancellation of incentive payments, dismissals of workers; he also expressed Inspectorate’s opinion in regard to the existing approaches for resolution those issues.
