Partners at the Law Firm “YUST” have participated in the Energy Charter Conference “Energy Dispute Resolution: Investment Protection, Transit and the Energy Charter Treaty”.

In the today’s world, securing and protection of energy investments is an important task for energy producers, consumers, and transit countries that secure energy transmission via their territories.

The Energy Charter Treaty, signed in 1994 and with 53 member countries, is the only multilateral treaty, where the investment proptection, consideration of investment disputes, and transit of energy resources are addressed.

During several sessions, participants of the conference dealt with the issues related to recent arbitration awards on international claims regarding the energy sector, transit and supplies of energy resources; innovations in the area under discussion; interrelationships of 27 EU member countries and 24 EU non-member countries in the protection of investments in the energy sector.
