The Law of Ukraine on joint-stock companies: the amount of the investors’ problems grows exponentially

This year the International Legal Forum in the city of Yalta celebrates its 10^th anniversary. Lawyers from Russia, Republic of Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Norway and Greece took part in the anniversary event.

A welcome speech of the organizers and Yuliya Kurylo, Director of the Law Firm “YUST Ukraina”, gave start to the Forum’s activities. Within the framework of a specialized section of the Forum, she also spoke on the problems, which foreign investors (including Russians) faced at the application of the law on joint-stock companies in Ukraine, and their possible solutions.

Participants of the Forum learned from Yuliya:

• How to correctly estimate the risks of the future transaction of sale and purchase of shares;
• What mechanism of transfer of operational management of a joint-stock company is the most effective for preventing a corporate conflict;
• How corporate and labour legislation correlate in the context of execution of contracts with a joint-stock company officers;
• What court practice of disputes with minority shareholders on claims of providing information has formed.
