The Lawyers at the Law Firm “YUST” have participated in the Fourth International Research-to-Practice Conference on Sports Law

Mikhail Prokopets, a Senior Lawyer at the Law Firm “YUST”, and Dmitry Zhubrin, an Associate at the Law Firm “YUST”, participated in the Fourth International Research-to-Practice Conference on Sports Law held on May 31, 2010, at the Moscow State Law Academy named after O.E. Kutafin.

Besides the Law Firm “YUST” and the Moscow State Law Academy named after O.E. Kutafin, the following entities also acted as organizers for the conference: the Russian Lawyers’ Association, the Olympic Committee of Russia, the Russian Football Union, the Continental Hockey League.

About 100 people took part in the conference, including representatives of the Council of Federation of the Russian Federation, those of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as Russian and foreign sports law experts.

Mikhail Prokopets, a Senior Lawyer at the Law Firm “YUST”, made a report on The Significance of “Matuzalem Case” to define Compensation for Preparation and Improvement of Performance of an Athlete in the Event of an Early Termination of an Employment Contract by a Footballer.
