Advocates of the Law Firm "YUST" successfully represented the interests of Development Corporation LLC in a dispute with a tax authority.

A significant number of organizations that use the word “yust” in their names have recently appeared. Some of those business entities specialize in legal services. We are forced to make it clear that all the above and other quasi-“yusts” have no relation whatsoever to the Law Firm "YUST".

The Moscow Times conference “Public-Private Partnership – 2013” is over. Its participants learned about the latest legislative changes in the PPP sphere, the possibilities and instruments of attracting funds to PPP projects. Leading PPP experts, representatives of public authorities, large banks, developers and transportation companies, private investors et al. took part in the sessions. The Law Firm "YUST" was the general partner of the event.

Last week, the State Duma Committee of civil, criminal, arbitration and procedural legislation held a round table dedicated to the concept of development of the private arbitration courts in Russia. Representatives of the Legislative, the Ministry of Justice, the judges’ and advocates’ community took part in the event. Partner, Advocate Alexander Bolomatov represented the Law Firm "YUST".

The first release of the “Legal Aspect” program, authored and co-anchored by Yury Pilipenko, Managing Partner of the Law Firm "YUST", went on air at the Echo Moskvy radio station on September 20 of 2013. The history of advocacy and the reform of the RAS were discussed live with Yana Rozova, a well-known journalist, and the guest of the program Evgeny Semenyako, President of the Federal Chamber of Advocates of Russia.

The second edition of the book “Advocate’s Code of Professional Ethics: scientific commentary” was published under the auspices of the Federal Chamber of Advocates of Russia and the Institute of Advocacy of the Oleg Kutafin Moscow State Academy of Law. First Vice President of the FCA of Russia, Doctor-at-Law Yury Pilipenko is the author of the book.

Getting the Deal Through, a competent international edition for corporate lawyers and practitioners published a material on the perspectives of franchising in Russia drawn up by the experts of the Law Firm "YUST": Partner Evgeny Zhilin, Partner, Advocate, Doctor-at-Law Anna Kotova-Smolenskaya, Advocate Denis Shumskiy.

Resolution No. 58 adopted by the Plenum of the HCA of Russia on 30.07.2013 explained procedural peculiarities inherent in the consideration of cases on contesting normative legal acts for the purpose of ensuring a uniform approach to their settlement in the courts of arbitration. Associate Arthur Sabitov of the Law Firm "YUST" gave to “Ezh-Yurist” newspaper an expert’s commentary on the consequences of application of the position formulated by the HCA of Russia.

The Chair of Labor Law of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” held on September 18 a round table with the participation of Boris Gorokhov, Chairman of the court jury on labor and social matters of the Court Board on civil cases of the Supreme Court of Russia. Distinguished representatives of scientific community, trade unions, employers, law firms and advocates’ community were among those invited. Lawyers Arthur Sabitov and Tatiana Samarina represented the Law Firm "YUST".

Three years ago, after a series of big crimes committed by militia officers, the Russian Penal Code was expanded to include a norm that made the work in the law enforcement agencies an aggravating circumstance for the accused – clause “o” of Article 63.
